It is possible to maximize subjective expected utility (SEU) and be happy at the same time. Being happy and maxing SEU is possible, there is no contradiction here. One can go to work, make money, preserve their options in life and be happy at the same time.

SEU is how economists explain a rational person’s decision making. Any description of a person in the real world must consider man’s ability to be rational. When talking about a man’s mind consider both the analytical (rational-SEU decision making) and emotional sides (happiness).
