The Pleasure of Just Being
During your day you have moments where you simply must wait and do nothing. Perhaps you are waiting in line at the supermarket, or for a streetlight to turn from red to green. Routine waiting, thinking and being is happiness producing.
Just being silent in the moment is pleasant. You might say to yourself, “I am still alive, how wonderful” or ”I have no pain, fantastic”. There is pleasure in just being. Feel the subtle sensations of your legs, arms or face. I love these subtle and interesting feelings. Be grateful for your body. Be grateful for your mind, and your ability to think and solve problems.
Eckhart Tolle has a great body of work that focuses on just being in the now. I few months ago I listened to one of his programs.
