A British television series called “The Happiness Formula” introduced Matthieu Ricard as the happy monk. The producers of the television series focused on the brain scans of Ricard because his scans showed unusually strong indicators of happiness. Interestingly, Ricard occasionally acts as a French translator for the Dalai Lama.
