Quality of Beliefs Determine Happiness
Being happy has to do with the quality of the beliefs that you have accepted.
If you feel negative about an aspect of reality, recognize that it is your belief, and not the reality, that supports the negative emotion.
You see, two people can look at the same aspect of reality, even an aspect that the world says is negative, and the happy person will find a way to interpret that aspect in a positive light.
This takes effort.
For practice, you might want to think of aspects of reality that the world generally thinks of as negative, and then see how those same negative aspects are really gifts.
Continue to do this until you see, all the time, only the gifts of reality.
A good example is death. Think of three reasons why a person’s death is the same or better for 1) the dead person and 2) the family who remains alive.
The reasons are out there, find them.
Now, for the advanced students only, work on yourself. Think of three reasons why you would be better off dead. Then think of three reasons why your family would be better off if you were dead.
Actively work through your fears of death. You either do it now…or later.
