Are Babies Happy?
The arguments usually go like this, everyone starts out happy and then,
- Society teaches us false ideas which lead to unhappiness
- We learn language, the ambiguities of which cause unhappiness
- We watch TV, the advertisements and news distort our thinking
- We play video games, which teach violence and sloth
- We make commitments to ourselves and others that we struggle to honor
So, the question arises, if everyone starts out happy, then are babies happy? Can we say that children are happier than adults?
I remember when I was a teenager, I think back then my emotional highs were higher and my lows were lower. As an adult, however, my emotional disposition is considerably more stable.
As for whether babies are happy, I will let you decide.

The studies on happiness find it’s the same bell curve for every ethnic group, every socio-economic group, etc. Pretty interesting, right?

Great post! Thought provoking.
My take is that babies are closer to Source, so yep, they are happy and in the flow. Teenagers are often wanting to maintain a connection to Source but dealing with familial and societal pressure to be whatever it is family and society wants them to be. I think the conflict between the two is what is at the heart of “teenage angst”.
Thanks for this!
