Perspectivism - Your Thoughts?

I enjoyed Karl Staib’s article about Perspectivsm. I invite you to read it.

In my mind perspectivism is one of the central elements of living a mentally healthy life.

I wish I understood perspectivism better, specifically, I want to know:

-How can I develop the skill of seeing situations from different perspectives more often? I tend to forget that I can do this, especially when I am in the midst of a heavy situation. Yesterday I put a Post-It note on my computer monitor at work as a reminder.

-What should I do next after I have considered a number of angles? What do I do after I have understood the validity of even contradictory perspectives?

-How can I use perspectivism to enjoy my life more? When I engage in understanding the various perspectives, I then start to feel….rather neutral about everything. I stop caring about what happens in the future. This does not seem to be a very adaptive consequence.

Maybe the most adaptive way to use perspectivism is to selectively defuse emotional pain?

Do you have any thoughts about this topic?
