Energy Expenditure IS Quality of Life

A few days ago I read, in the context of exercise, that energy expenditure is quality of life.

A doctor was talking about the positive effects of an active lifestyle and then said that the more active you are, the higher your quality of life.

I have been intrigued by this statement ever since because energy expenditure could be an objective measure of happiness.

To my knowledge, there exists only subjective measures of happiness, there are no objective measures.

Aristotle believe that happiness could be objectively measured. Aristotle thought that if he could read a person’s obituary that he (and anyone else) could make a reasonable determination about whether that person lived a happy life.

If energy expenditure IS quality of life, then how would you rate your personal quality of life? How does quality of life relate to happiness, are they directly proportional?
