Emotional Goals
Life mastery begins with having solid emotional goals. Emotional goals are goals that pertain to managing your emotional states.
It is ok to have regular goals, but emotional goals are the key to happiness.
Regular goals, like buying a car, buying a big house, or earning a 100k per year are subject to changes in circumstances. You might work a lifetime and never reach your regular goal, even if you worked diligently at the task. Regular goals are somewhat out of your control.
What is 100% in you control is your emotional state. Having emotional goals like,
-Being friendly
-Being compassionate
-Frequently experiencing feelings of joy
-Being completely happy
Are goals that are in reach right now. One can manage their emotional states using the following techniques:
-Visualization
-Affirmations
-Meditation
-Asking themselves questions like, “What makes me excited right now?”
-Managing your focus
-Physiology, moving your body in ways that produce or encourage certain states
Make it a priority to establish clear emotional goals.
