Trying to Buy Feelings
When we buy things that we do not need, we are literally trying to buy feelings. Interestingly, it actually works. The problem is that the new feelings often don’t last. They are temporary.
What feelings to you buy most often?
Do you buy feelings of prestige? Feelings of importance? Feelings of significance? Do you buy the feeling of safety or security?
It occurs to me that city, state and federal governments pay a lot of money to buy feelings as well.

I buy newness. There’s something refreshing about getting things that are new. That’s especially true with the latest techie gizmos that, while they have neat new features, have no real use. They’re just new. And new is cool.
