Radical Enjoyment

Use radical enjoyment to bring more happiness into your life. Use the word “enjoy” as a springboard to ask “How can I enjoy my present situation?” Use your boundless creativity to arrive at a sensible answer.

If it rains, enjoy the rain.

If it snow, enjoy the snow.

Remember that reality is always better than the stories we tell about it. Reality is good.

If you at home sick, then enjoy being at home and sick.

If you are at work, enjoy being at work.

If you in the hospital waiting for surgery, enjoy waiting for surgery.

Now we get a little radical…

If you are in a dentist’s chair, enjoy your time in the dentist’s chair.

If you are on your death bed, enjoy your last few moments of life.

    Dear Miguel,

Great post and blog — the last two lines made me laugh out loud and a quote I’ve heard before popped into my head. “98% of stress is in your perception of the situation, 2% is the situation. Yes, that would apply to the dentist’s chair, but I’m not sure about death. ”

I also just finished a book on Happiness by Marci Shimoff called Happy for No Reason: 7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it. She has first-person stories and practical strategies on how to make the best of each day in our lives. It was a great read to start the new year with. Hope you like it.

    Cheers,
    Linda
