Optimism is a mental skill that can be developed just like creativity, memory and mental arithmetic.
A person who has strong optimism skills may be able avoid depression later in life if they are ever faced with a death in the family, natural disaster or failing personal health.
If you are a parent, teach your child how to be optimistic. Optimism is a kind of insurance policy that will protect your children’s mental health regardless of their future circumstances.

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article Optimism is a SkillThink Happy Thoughts Happiness Blog, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
