Happiness Independant of Desire Fullfillment
I came across this amazing articulation of happiness independent of desire fulfillment. I just had to share it with you.
“I don’t think there is any harm in desires and wanting, that is how
we know what we want to do moment to moment. The desire can be as
simple as wanting a cup of tea or it could be that new ferari that
zoomed by on the road, or it could be the desire to work at the
homeless shelter. And of course our happiness isn’t dependent on
having our every desire. Having a desire can be totally independent
of attachment to fullfillment of the desire.
There is nothing wrong with having an abundant life, however one
defines abundant.

Is it really true that we can have a desire and simply sit with it, and even enjoy the desire. Then separate ourselves from the need to fulfill that desire and yet still be happy? I think this may be true. I will do some personal experimentation to verify.
